TIME FLIES
Time surely does seem to go quickly in certain areas of our lives. It especially seems that way when it comes to our children. The days seem long but truly the years are short.
The 2023-2024 school year here at Grace Lutheran School is coming to an end. Time does fly. King Solomon writes in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” This is a busy season for us all. Your kids are yearning for summer. Each morning, you have battles about combing hair or lengths of showers and every night you have battles about homework or bedtime. It is easy to fall prey to wishing to fast forward through this season of life. But today will never be repeated. Your children have one childhood. Every day is precious and a gift from the Lord. We pray as the psalmist writes in Psalm 90:12, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
What better gift can you give to your children than teaching them about Jesus Christ, the author of time? He is the one who died and rose to save the entire world to give us eternal life. Jesus says, “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)
