Two Grace Lutheran School Students Check Off Their Bucket List.
8/21/2023
Avila and Monnica Colanter are known to be real go-getters, So when they added “Ride horses to school” to their bucket list, it was just a matter of time before it happened. Avila, a Junior, and Monnica, a Freshman, both at Grace Lutheran High School, checked a long time dream off of their bucket list this Monday morning. Being that they live in Independence, they chose to take a quicker route and ride just a few blocks, but nevertheless their wish has become reality.
Avila and Monica are the daughters of Eddie and Brit Colanter. They have one brother Augustine who is also a student at Grace Lutheran School, where their father teaches Philosophy. They are both very active in 4-H and the 4-H Horse Club and participate in the Washington County Fair. Both girls are hoping to show their meat rabbits in September as well as their Calf Scramble Heifers. Last year both Avila and Monnica won Grand Champion in the Country Creations Art Category and are looking forward to competing again this year. Monnica also plays Washington County Youth Soccer and Avila is Vice President of the Washington County 4-H Horse Club. They are both active members of Grace Lutheran Church.
